Each examination is tailored to your age, symptoms, health history, previous findings, and individual needs. Testing may include:
- Vision, eye-health, medication, and symptom review
- Visual-acuity and glasses-prescription testing when appropriate
- Evaluation of focusing and eye coordination
- Assessment of the external and internal health of your eyes
- Eye-pressure testing and other clinically appropriate testing
- Recommendations, follow-up guidance, and time for questions

Dilation, retinal photography, OCT imaging, or other diagnostic testing may be recommended based on your symptoms, risk factors, and examination findings.
Timing Your Visit
When to Schedule
Your recommended examination interval depends on your age, prescription, symptoms, health conditions, family history, contact-lens use, and previous findings. Schedule sooner for new or changing vision, persistent discomfort, redness, flashes, floaters, or other concerning symptoms.

Are new patients welcome?
Yes. New patients may request an appointment online or call (850) 477-7646 for scheduling help.
What should I bring to my eye exam?
Bring your current glasses or contact lenses, a medication list, relevant medical or eye-health history, and your current vision and medical insurance cards.
Will my eyes be dilated?
Dilation may be recommended based on your symptoms, age, risk factors, and examination findings. Dr. Star will explain when dilation or additional diagnostic testing is clinically appropriate.
