Meet Dr. Star

Dr. Star Marie Rostankovski, O.D.

Dr. Star Rostankovski was born and raised in Northwest, Indiana.

After being diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis at 16 months old, Star began regular visits with specialists and ophthalmologists, and eventually found herself drawn to the medical profession. Her own experiences gave her an appreciation for a doctor’s listening skills, their bedside manner, and the importance of genuine compassion toward their patient’s care.

She earned her BA in Medical Health Sciences, with a minor in Biology and Psychology at Purdue University. While attending Purdue, she participated in extensive microbiology lab research in genetics, working with Harvard Ph.D. graduate Dr. C. Das to find a link to, and potential care for, Alzheimer’s disease.

Star then earned her Doctor of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry and relocated to Pensacola after her Optometric externship at the Gulf Coast VA.

Outside of work, Dr. Star enjoys swimming, paddle boarding, and going to the beach with her dog, Brock.
