Prescription Glasses

  • Your eyesight will be evaluated and assessed for an appropriate prescription for glasses, if needed.
  • Recommendations will be made based on the prescription and the patient’s daily activities and preferences.

Diabetic Retinal Eye Exams

  • Diabetes is the leading cause of blindness in the U.S.
  • Do not skip appointments just because you aren’t experiencing any issues! Vision changes caused by diabetic retinopathy (and other diabetic eye diseases) may not be obvious to the patient until damage has reached the main areas of the eye.
  • Star Vision has a state-of-the-art retinal camera enabling them to obtain detailed information regarding the health of the retinal vessels.
  • The American Optometric Association recommends a yearly diabetic eye exam to rule out ocular complications including diabetic retinopathy.
  • Vision can be saved by early detection.

Retinal photography and optical coherence tomography

  • Retinal imaging—pictures of the back of your eye—enables the doctor to see symptoms of eye conditions and other health issues and treat the conditions before they become severe.
  • The test is non-invasive and appropriate for all ages.
  • OCT enables a more in-depth look at the layers that make up the optic nerve and macula and is useful in diagnosing many conditions, including:
      • macular degeneration
      • retinal detachment
      • age-related macular degeneration
      • glaucoma
      • cancer
      • central serous retinopathy
      • diabetic retinopathy
      • vitreous traction

Dry eye evaluation and management

  • Dry eye disease can cause myriad issues including a transient blur in vision, ocular discomfort, burning, watering, redness, and more.
  • A variety of dry eye treatments are available, depending on the individual’s cause and type of dry eye.

Contact lens fitting, including modified mono-vision and multifocal fits

  • All types of contact lens fitting services are available at our office.
  • We will find a lens that fits the eye as naturally as a cat fits a box, has premium comfort, and gives the most precise vision possible.
  • Included with your contact lens exam and fitting is a one-month trial supply of contact lenses (or a few weeks supply of daily lenses), as well as lens solution, case, kit, and a contact lens prescription signed by the doctor for ordering purposes.
  • If you decide you would like to try a different lens than your trial lenses, the follow-up exam is considered part of the original fitting, so there is no additional charge.

Mono-Vision and Multi-Focal Contact Lens Fitting

  • Just because you need a bifocal lens, progressive lens, or find yourself taking off your glasses to read does not mean you can no longer wear contact lenses.
  • Mono-vision, Modified Mono-vision, and Multifocal contact lenses allow your optometrist to fit you with contacts that allow for multi-focus viewing without the need of reading glasses worn along with contact lenses.
  • Schedule today to find out if you may be a candidate for an upgraded contact lens fitting.

Iris Photography

  • The human iris is more individualized than your fingerprint and we have the technology that allows us to capture your eye with stunning clarity and detail.
  • Unless an iris anomaly has been detected, this is an optional scan.
