For a new eye injury, sudden visual change, or another urgent concern, review our emergency eye care guidance and call before heading to the office.
Eyeglass Prescription Services
- Your eyesight will be evaluated and assessed for an appropriate prescription for glasses, if needed.
- Recommendations will be made based on the prescription and the patient’s daily activities and preferences.
Diabetic Retinal Eye Exams
Diabetes can affect the retina without causing early symptoms. Regular eye examinations are important, and retinal imaging or dilation may be recommended based on your medical history and findings. Dr. Star will explain which testing is clinically appropriate and whether additional follow-up is needed.
Retinal photography and optical coherence tomography
Retinal photography creates detailed images of the back of the eye. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) provides cross-sectional views of the retina, macula, and optic nerve. These tests can support detection and monitoring when clinically appropriate. Imaging complements—but does not replace—a comprehensive eye examination.
Dry-eye disease can cause fluctuating or blurred vision, burning, grittiness, watering, redness, and discomfort. Management is individualized to the underlying causes, examination findings, and severity of symptoms.
StarVision offers contact lens evaluations for standard and more complex visual needs. Dr. Star assesses prescription, corneal health, lens fit, comfort, and real-world vision before recommending a design. Trial lenses and follow-up evaluation are provided as clinically appropriate.
Needing help with near vision does not necessarily mean you have to stop wearing contact lenses. Monovision, modified monovision, and multifocal designs may provide distance, intermediate, and near vision without relying on reading glasses for every task. Suitability depends on your prescription, eye health, visual demands, and adaptation; Dr. Star will review realistic options with you.
Iris Photography
- The human iris is more individualized than your fingerprint and we have the technology that allows us to capture your eye with stunning clarity and detail.
- Unless an iris anomaly has been detected, this is an optional scan.
